The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute (CBDI) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting additional pediatric hematology/oncology hospitalists/nocturnists for our growing program. We were recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report (2024-2025) as the highest ranked pediatric cancer program on the west coast of Florida. The CBDI aims to be the center of excellence and the premier cancer and blood disorder center in Florida for children, adolescents, and young adults.  We strive to be recognized nationally as leaders in the field of pediatric cancer and blood disorders by participating in the areas of clinical, translational, and laboratory research. The CBDI treats the full spectrum of pediatric cancers and blood disorders and offers patients a wide range of therapies, including cutting-edge immunotherapy such as our CAR-T cell therapy program. Our oncology and hematology programs take a whole-team approach to treating cancer and blood disorders. We work alongside specialists and subspecialists across our hospital, including social workers, child life specialists, psychologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, patient educators and nutritionists and meet our patient's needs all in one location.

The CBDI hospitalist team consists of 3 pediatric hematologist/oncologists who cover pediatric hematology, oncology and BMT inpatient services between the hours of 4:30 PM – 7:30 AM daily. (The team makes their own schedule which includes roughly 10 shifts/month). Hospitalists handle admissions for pediatric hematology, oncology and BMT but do not have primary duties for patients. The ideal candidate will be board eligible/certified in pediatric hematology/ oncology with a record of clinical excellence. He/she will have the ability/desire to provide exceptional patient care and foster our mission of delivering family-centered multidisciplinary care in a cutting-edge setting. New graduates demonstrating these skills will also be considered.

The CBDI is one of the largest in the southeastern United States and is a leading center for treatment and clinical research. Patients have access to the latest clinical trials and our affiliation with The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore connects us to even more clinical trials and emerging cures for childhood cancer. We are members of the Children’s Oncology Group and are the only pediatric affiliate of Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida’s only NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. In addition to providing clinical care, participation in medical education and research is strongly encouraged.
