Blood Bank - Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologists

Duties: Collaborating with the Laboratory Supervisor, you’ll conduct moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in our hospital’s blood bank, including type-and-screens, cross-match, blood compatibility, and antibody screening. You’ll also prepare packed red cells, FFP, platelets, cryoprecipitate, and various blood products for routine and emergency transfusions; perform quality control on all tests to ensure compliance and follow-up on out-of-range results.

Ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or one of the physical sciences – Biology, Chemistry
• Preferably, 6+ years’ clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or high-level research setting
• New York State MT or MLS license; ASCP preferred
• The ability to utilize laboratory information system (LIS) to document patient results
