DescriptionPediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Hospitalist OpportunityThe Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is currently seeking full-time BMT Hospitalist. Applicants are not required to be pediatric hematology/oncology trained and no oncology background is required. General pediatric trained or medical/pediatric physicians are welcome. Hospitalists help provide supportive care to pediatric and young adult patients admitted to the inpatient units. They work in conjunction with the attending BMT physician providing the patient's day to day care and management of complex and acutely ill patients. Hospitalists work in the context of a multidisciplinary team with nutritionists, pharmacists, social workers, care managers, child life, PT/OT, and nursing.
The Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immune Deficiency Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is a national and international leader in innovative uses of blood and marrow transplantation. In the twenty+ year history of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Cincinnati Children's, over 2200 transplants have been performed, including the nation's first successful blood and marrow transplant performed as treatment for sickle cell anemia and for autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome. Research has led to the successful treatment of Fanconi anemia, as well as increased success with alternative donor transplants. The BMT program is a leader in transplantation for immunodeficiency and histiocytic disorders. There is a strong partnership between the BMT Program and other programs at Cincinnati Children's such as those in the Cancer Center, Immunodeficiencies Program, and Histiocytosis Program. The growth of the BMT program continues with expansion within the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute. The BMT Division at Cincinnati Children's is under the direction of Stella Davies, MD, Ph.D.

DHMDZ - Staff Physician 2 CCHMC Position DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide safe and effective medical care to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center patients. To contribute toward the advancement of clinical patient care and outcomes by following care guideline and treatment protocols for infant; children and adolescent patients and to aid in their mental and physical growth and development. May elect to participate in the training and education of residents; fellows and other learners.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Patient Care
Perform direct patient care of pediatric patients within the scope of the medical license, education and experience. Consistently contributes toward the advancement of clinical patient care and improved outcomes. Examine patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determine nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribe and administer medications and immunizations. Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care. May formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment. May also plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients. If a subspecialist, works to establish a local or regional referral base.

QualificationsEducation/Experience Required:Doctor of Medicine OR Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine OR equivalent
Completion of a Pediatric, Med/Peds or Internal Medicine Residency
Able to obtain and Ohio Medical License
Preferred:
Board certified or Board Eligible pediatric physician
