Medical Technician will work at the Lake Nona location. The incumbent will perform work in a clinical laboratory providing a range of technical functions to include blood drawing procedures, assisting patients and specimen processing Duties are but not limited to: Confirms the patient's identity at all times by using at least two patient identifiers when collecting lab samples and using two identifiers to label sample collection containers in the presence of the patient. Follow-up on possible order entry errors by checking the computer and consulting with supervisors and carefully follows written procedures. Demonstrate the ability to organize and prioritize work based on the rights of the patient as well as the interests of the physician. Give proper attention to urgent requests. Maintains records describing results pertaining to tests and examinations performed. Operate computer terminals or personal computers to perform records search, data input and data corrections. Conduct physical inventories and adjust and/or maintain inventory, stock, plant or property account records. Perform a range of diagnostic support duties such as taking and labeling specimens for the laboratory.
