Fairview Health Services is looking for an Ultrasound Technologist to work at the Fairview Clinics at Southdale in Edina, Minnesota. This position is approved for 48 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible.
The Ultrasound Technologist-Clinic functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (RDMS)
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to referring physicians and/or radiologists
Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures
Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements., completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
Technical Certificate in Ultrasound or Associated Degree in Ultrasound at the education level of RDMS registry eligible
AART or RDMS registered in one specialty area within 18 months of employment with Fairview
Basic Life Support
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program
One or more years of pervious ultrasound Technologist experience
Current Registration with RDMS in a specialty area
Understanding of current Minnesota Department of Health Regulations.
Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.
Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work at other sites preferred.
