This position is in Radiology Service. It is a non-supervisory postition at the full performance level. A DRT at this level performs routine to moderately complex radiographic and computed tomography (CT) examination procedures. These exams are achieved by using diagnostic x-ray equipment such as fluoroscopic units, direct digital units, and (CT) scanner. Performs (CT) of the head, neck, spine, chest, and body. These exams are performed with and without the use of contrast materials. The duties of this position are but not limited to: Assists radiologists in fluoroscopic examinations. Prepares and administers contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist. Prepares contrast materials for cystogram, fistulograms, and arthrography. In the case of injected media, a patient consent form must be obtained. Observes patient for signs and symptoms of adverse contrast reaction and initiates the appropriate response for varying levels of severity. Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patient, staff and self. Performs processing of digital images using the CR system. Performs quality control of the images, assessing for proper exposure, positioning and annotation. Applies CR post-processing techniques such as window leveling, edge enhancement, brightness and annotation corrections as necessary. Prints film from a processor or makes a disc (CD) of the patient's studies. Maintains records and files of exams performed on patients. Edits and when necessary registers patients in the computerized Radiology Information System (RIS) as well as the work list management portion of the HIS-RIS interface. Explains exams to competent patients. Performs radiographic exams at the bedside and in the operating rooms providing diagnostic images to the surgeons and professional staff on patients that are unable to be examined in the Radiology Service. Develops and maintains patient preparation procedures. Work Schedule: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND MIDNIGHT-8AM SATURDAY & SUNDAY Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
