Hours: Varied *Experienced Certified Medical Lab Scientist/MT may qualify for up to a $5,000 sign on bonus! JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the direction of the activities for the laboratory blood bank and transfusion services. The manager¿s responsibilities require the oversight and evaluation of procedures, regulatory requirements, equipment, and staff. The position requires knowledge of facts, concepts and skills in technique and instrumentation as well as knowledge of personnel relations and group functions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Baccalaureate degree or HEW MT preferred with six years of experience in the clinical laboratory. Associates degree MLT with 6 years of experience in the clinical laboratory will be considered.
- ASCP certification with the College of American Pathologists
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: - Extensive knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of clinical laboratory science.
- Working knowledge of recent laboratory developments, current literature, and sources of information in medical technology appropriate to the field of specialization.
- Ability to supervise subordinate technologists and instruct students in the performance of medical laboratory examinations and tests.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks according to procedures and to make accurate observations and records of test result.
- Ability to supervise the preparation of reports and the maintenance of records.
- Skilled in the use of medical laboratory equipment in the performance of required tests and examinations and skilled in demonstrating the use of medical laboratory equipment.
