In-patient E&M Coder

You Are:

• 2 years of Evaluation and Management coding experience is required
• A medical coder with 2-4 years ofcoding experience, and knowledge of CPT-4
• Experienced in ICD-10 CMcoding, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Familiar with an automated health care environment
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and work well under pressure
• Able to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records

You Will:

• Analyze medical records, extracting clinical, pathological, therapeutic and epidemiologic data in accordance with established ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 AMA coding principles and guidelines
• Ensure that data is optimally coded for research purposes, financial reimbursement, planning, statistics and regulatory reporting
• Communicate directly with physicians to ensure that clinical documentation is coded timely, accurately and in compliance with CMS guidelines and national correct coding initiatives.

You Need:

• Good computer, verbal and written communication skills required
• High school diploma (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
• RHIT/RHIA, Certified Coding Program preferred; CCS, CCS-P, AAPC certifications preferred.
• PK database, can be trained on but knowledge is preferred
