This position will be based out of Marshfield, and will require travel to the Regional Labs.
The Lab Technical Specialist II is responsible for the technical functions, across the laboratory service line, within a given discipline. This individual will be accountable to methods and instrument performance, quality control and result reporting, problem resolution, new method and instrument evaluation, research, development, planning and implementation, quality control statistics, technical studies, and technical education of staff (including providing direction and mentorship to the Lab Technical Specialist I.

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent; Advanced degree in related field
Seven years of work experience relative to the technical function of the role
One year in a leadership role showing demonstrated personal leadership effectiveness and team-building strategies
Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification awarded by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), and within 12 month of hire, attain Specialist certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) relative to technical scope of role from one of the following:
SC – Specialist in Chemistry
SH – Specialist in Hematology
SM – Specialist in Microbiology
SBB – Specialist in Blood Banking
SCT – Specialist in Cytotechnology
SCYM – Specialist in Cytometry
SMB – Specialist in Molecular Biology
Preferred/Optional: Seven years of experience in a Lab Technical Specialist I role or equivalent
