This position manages the Core, Special Chemistry, Special Coagulation, and Special Hematology Laboratories, and Hematopathology Service.The Core Laboratory maintains continuous operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Core and Specialty Laboratories Manager provides leadership and oversight over the technical and financial operations as well as personnel management for these laboratory areas.This position is supported by approximately 10 direct reports which are comprised of supervisors, specialists and quality management personnel.
This is a day shift position with hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Responsibilities will include:
Manage day to day clinical testing operations
Ensure timely completion of long term strategic initiatives
Collaborate with supervisors, laboratory administrative leadership, and clinical pathologists
Monitor finances for the different costs centers
Prepare operational budgets and capital expenses
Develop and execute strategic goals for growth
Write and review SOPs
Manage relationships with vendors and monitor vendor contracts
Audit billing for compliance
Provide performance evaluations for direct reporting employees
Support supervisors and specialists and maintain accountability to meet deadlines and achieve target goals
Adherence to hospital policies and procedures

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or a Biological Science.
Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent certification by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC).
Six (6) years of laboratory experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
If a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biological Science: Six (6) years of laboratory experience, including three (3) years of supervisory experience plus one (1) year of an accredited laboratory internship.
