PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the operations of Laboratory Information Systems Department. Maintain and support hardware, networks and applications for information systems in Blood Bank. Tissue Typing and Donor Center. Act as liaison to Hospital Information Systems.
Manages, oversees and plans LIS initiatives for the Clinical Laboratory, Anatomic Pathology, Genomics, Blood Bank, Donor Center and Tissue Typing in alignment with department and hospital goals.
Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees operations, and manages staff and budget in accordance with hospital’s policies and procedures.
Assists in strategic development: develops staff and facilities to meet new and existing needs.
Continuously monitors Clinical Laboratory computer system operations to maximize functionality and minimize any disruptions in support.
Works on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further the overall goals of the organization. Plan, design and develop new computer applications in support of institution goals.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the leadership standards and SCOR values of the Hospital
BS Degree in Medical Technology and/or Computer Science required or other related field. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience Requirements 3-5 years experience in IS in a laboratory environment required; bench exposure preferred.
