The pathology department at MetroHealth Medical Center, a large, 700-bed hospital of Case Western Reserve University, Medical School and a major, level-1 trauma center in northeastern Ohio is recruiting a full-time surgical pathologist.
MetroHealth Medical Center encompasses a large growing Anatomic Pathology Laboratory with approximately 25,000 surgical pathology cases, approximately 24,000 cytology cases, 85 autopsies, and coverage of a separate GI endoscopy laboratory totaling approximately 4,500 biopsies/year. The division of Anatomic Pathology includes eight surgical pathologists, including the department Chair, responsible for surgical pathology and cytology sign-out and an additional pathologist in charge of the autopsy service. In addition, the department has a fully accredited AP/CP residency program which includes eight residents and two fellows, one in Surgical Pathology and one in Cytology
M.D./D.O. with the American Board of Pathology certification in AP/CP or AP.
Expertise/training in bone and soft tissue, or head and neck pathology, or thoracic pathology, or breast pathology is desired but not required.
Experience in medical staff function and working knowledge of hospital operations.
