Providence is calling a Respiratory Therapist (Pulmonary and Sleep Disorders, Days, Full time - 1.0 FTE) to Providence Medical Group in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Instruct patients and families in the proper use of respiratory equipment, including but not limited to: inhalators, nebulizer machines, oxygen tanks, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)/ Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BIPAP) machines.
Educate patients and families about respiratory care.
Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures such as, but not limited to pulmonary function tests, oximetry, spirometry, and other measurements.
Coordinate with physician and nursing staff in planning and implementing patient plan of care.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles.
Maintain supply and inventory for respiratory care.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Accredited respiratory therapy educational program sufficient to qualify for licensure in Washington State
Respiratory Care Practitioner with the Washington State Department of Health
Current BLS – Healthcare Provider (must be AHA accredited) or obtained within 90 days of hire
Computer, keyboarding, and telephone skills required
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Preferred Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Prior clinical experience, preferably in pulmonary or sleep medicine
Preferred experience in administering pulmonary function tests
