Cedars-Sinai Department of Biomedical Sciences is looking for a Project Scientist to join Dr. Lali Medina-Kauwe's targeted therapeutics research lab.
Summary of Essential Job Duties: The candidate independently works on research projects under the PIs directorship. The candidate has demonstrated aptitude to design and perform experimental protocols and procedures, including detailed data collection and analysis, and operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.
Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance of specialized equipment.
The candidate has demonstrated ability to write scientific reports and has successfully published research findings.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Technical duties will include routine procedures in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, microscopy and imaging, cell/tissue culture, and animal handling. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, curious, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. The candidate will participate in mentoring of other junior lab members, and assists the PI with research paper and grant writing. Experience in recombinant protein production and handling, and virology is helpful but not required. Experience in working with mice and human tissue is preferred.
