LOCATION: John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital
SHIFT: 8am – 4pm
Under direct supervision performs radiographic procedures of various anatomical parts of the body by operating highly sophisticated bi-plane and single plane radiographic equipment, during highly skilled technical radiographic procedures, which require specialized knowledge of anatomy and pathology. Practices infection control and adheres to radiation safety measures. Performs related duties as required.
High school graduate or GED equivalent.( Must provide transcripts at time of interview )
Graduate of a two (2) year American Medical Association approved School of Radiologic Technology.( Must provide proof at time of interview )
Experience in performing Special Procedures in Angiography.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) in Radiology.( Must provide proof at time of interview )
Active licensure by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)( Must provide proof at time of interview )
Must have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.( Must provide proof at time of interview )
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Basic knowledge of PACS System.
Basic knowledge of Infection Control and Safety Guidelines.
Knowledge of various items (supplies) used in special procedures.
Knowledge of Cerner and PACS System.
Good skills in interpreting the request and instructions from a Physician or Radiologist. Basic knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology.
Ability to examine and evaluate technical aspects of radiographic films.
