Medical Laboratory Scientist -Laboratory Services
Lakeland Medical Center
The professional we select for this vital role will perform test procedures authorized by the medical laboratory director and ensure that all laboratory testing is performed according to established protocol and procedures. Exercising professional judgment in the evaluation and assessment of test performance, sample integrity, result accuracy and validity, this individual will follow all safety practices and maintain professional competency to ensure high-quality testing services.
Bachelor's degree (Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or equivalent with laboratory internship as required by CLIA '88 and State of Florida qualifications for licensure
Experience and Licensure:
Maintenance of active status for licensure as a clinical laboratory scientist under the rules of the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel (Department of Health/Division of Medical Quality Assurance)
Completion of continuing education credits to maintain licensure
Completion of an approved MLS program
3 + years of experience in professional/technical position or other work related to this role
National registry (ASCP or NCA) at a technologist level or higher
