Responsible for providing patient services using medical ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures and records anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician. 2.Assists the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases. 3.Obtains, reviews, and integrates pertinent patient medical history and supporting clinical data to facilitate optimum diagnostic results. 4.Provides patient education related to medical ultrasound. 5.Records and processes sonographic data. 6.Provides patient services in a variety of medical settings. 7.Performs quality assurance checks on equipment, ensuring proper safety standards are met.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: •Education: Graduate of an Allied Health program with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree required. A degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred. •Experience: No experience required. Diagnostic Medical Sonography experience preferred. •License/Certification: ARRT(S) or ARDMS certification required. Registered Vascular Technologist certification required within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. GENERAL INFORMATION:
